STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select "unlimited file size for previews"
2. Some files like PDFs seems to make Dolphin RAM usage grow in several gigabytes.
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
System unresposive (low on RAM)

EXPECTED RESULT

Should not happen,  problem goes away if a Preview Max Size is defined in the preferences.
