SUMMARY
***
During the process of animation a line opened up in the middle of the canvas, no matter what I do I can't take it out. It is not attached to any layer and drawing is still possible without interference, yet it is disrupting.

disable Show Painting Assistant

At some stage, you've added a horizontal ruler Painting Assistant to the image.
You can disable the showing of the Assistant while painting or you can delete the Assistant.

Both possible actions are explained in the attached screenshots.

If similar puzzling situations happen in the future, please go to https://krita-artists.org/ (sign up and log in are needed) and create a new topic where you can present and explain the problem. That forum is a suitable place for uploading screenshots and asking for help and advice.
