Bootsplash screen stops loading after a few system updates

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Clear install KDE Neon User Edition
2. Install actual system updates (especially kernel packages)
3. After reboot there is no bootsplash screen, you have text mode with all console messages. If you want bootsplash screen back - you have to run command: sudo apt reinstall grub-pc

OBSERVED RESULT
There is no bootsplash screen, only text mode with console messages

EXPECTED RESULT
Bootsplash screen works after any packages update
