SUMMARY
***
During installation on most distributions, I get the choice to chose my keyboard. The generic solution which works fine on standard keyboards is "generic 105-key PC keyboard". However, after the first login, this choice is not honored and the default keyboard in systemsettings changed to "generic 86-key PC keyboard".
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE / OBSERVED RESULT
1. Install a distribution with KDE/Plasma, such as openSUSE Tumbleweed.
2. Make sure the keyboard is set to "generic 105-key PC keyboard" during the installation which should already be the default.
3. After installation and a reboot, open systemsettings and the input devices section to validate your choice, the entry changed to "generic 86-key PC keyboard".

EXPECTED RESULT

The user's choice should be honored, in this case it should be set to "generic 105-key PC keyboard"

This is still an issue on Plasma 5.27.4 / KF 5.105.0 / Qt 5.15.9 / X11. It is not the "generic 86-key PC keyboard" hoewever on every distribution I tested it with, but sometimes the "generic 104-key PC keyboard".

But the value is still off-by-one of the originally chosen value.
