Description indecisiveautomator 2022-01-15 23:31:06 UTC
SUMMARY
When activating the Overview effect (e.g., with a Screen Edge), the blur of a panel is disabled. When deactivating the effect (e.g., by selecting a window), the panel blur effect harshly returns. This happens with single monitor and multi-monitor setups.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set a panel to adaptive or translucent opacity
2. Activate overview effect

OBSERVED RESULT
Panel transparency harshly changes to opaque

EXPECTED RESULT
Panel transparency should smoothly transition when activating and deactivating the effect.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.16.0-arch1-1
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.90
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Tested on Wayland
- Purely a visual glitch with the overview effect and panel transparency, panels will always return to their previous state when the effect is stopped.
Comment 1 indecisiveautomator 2022-05-20 02:54:53 UTC
This is irrelevant as a result of the Overview effect change in 5.25, where the panel disappears when the Overview effect is activated. So this is no longer a bug.
