This is an INDI issue, not KStars. At any rate, did you happen to have the streaming on at the same time? Streaming downscales to 8 bit first. If you just record, it should be 16bit. Hi Jasem, first of all I'm sorry to have reported in the wrong place... it was just because I was running from the Ekos panel but .. once again... sorry. I tried to capture the ser file both from the Ekos interface button and directly from the Indi tab panel straight. And in this latter case I tried both: with streaming off and streaming on. Also I noticed that almost all the time it looks like as it fails to close the streaming recording job because if you try to repeat the recording (or change other settings) the log message says the the recording device is busy (something like that) and the only way is to disconnect and restart.
