(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: kdevelop
Version: KDE 3.0.1
Severity: normal
Installed from: SuSE RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

I mainly use the programs Kdevelop but I want copy and paste text from other apps. I'm used to select a piece of text to copy it and to press the middle mouse button to paste it. Unfortunately since KDE 3.0 it's absolutely impossible to predict what will be pasted next. I tried to configure it but I didn't get it right. With Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V I also get mostly random results. I really like Kde but this bug makes it almost impossible to work with it.

Hi

I know the Clipboard sometimes drives me crazy too... It gets better with=
=20
KDE 3.1.

Please note that KDE has a Clipboard (CTRL-C CTRL-V) and the X-Server has =
one=20
(mark and middle mouse button). Some apps don't stick to that so the wrong=
=20
thing might be pasted.

Best regards
Harry

Yes.. this has to be fixed..

If I mark something with my mouse in a kde app and then paste it into say Phoenix.
I wont get the result I wanted.. KDE HAS TO move what is marked with the mouse to
the correct buffer and keep it's own buffer for Ctrl+C Ctrl+V

KDE also seem to block copying from certain text fields. like the Doc's in Kdevelop (gideon)
so I can't cut 'n paste example code...
