SUMMARY

Rendering takes REALLY long on my pc, while it would normally render pretty quickly (about the same render time as watch time)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Edit 30minute video
2. Render as .mpg
3. wait a minute

OBSERVED RESULT

rendering below 10fps

EXPECTED RESULT

render around 60fps and finish in about half an hour

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Pop OS 20.04

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I have a Ryzen 3 3100 and 16GB of RAM

I have a workaround, I can render as mp4  and it will render around 55fps

Thanks for your report and happy to hear you found a solution that works four you!

I guess there is not much we can do about it on Kdenlive's side if there is a mismatch between the render time of different formats since this is the responsibility of your dependencies MLT and FFmpeg. However you can try to speed it up by adjusting parameters like "Use parallel Processing"
