(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: konqueror
Version: KDE 3.0.2
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc-2.95
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

I wanted to rename a File with F2 which is owned by root (not me - the user). After renaming there comes a messagebox which tells me that I don't have permissions and that I can skip it.

I skipped it but Konqueror displayed the renamed file. After a reload the old (unmodified) filename appears again.

Suggestion 1: Don't let the user press F2 if the user doesn't have the rights for renaming.

Suggestion 2: Display the original name after pushing "skip".

Good work anyway :-))
