STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1.  Open any QT based application (e.g., Kate, Dolphin, etc) on Wayland. I presume you may need a multi monitor setup. My setup has three monitors with different resolutions, same DPI, one rotated 90 degrees.
2.  Click on menu bar menu item

OBSERVED RESULT
 Observe detached drop down menu, placed well away from its triggering menu item 
 

EXPECTED RESULT
 drop down menus are placed immediately below its triggering menu item

Known issue fixed in Qt already and backported to the Qt patch collection.
