Does your uploaded video contain audio? Yes we have some audio issue with crackling but we didn't found the root cause so far. Do you hear crackling just scrubbing on an empty timeline? Any audio or video driver updated in the last days? (In reply to emohr from comment #1) > Does your uploaded video contain audio? I forgot about this post, but I founf out, if you jutd go into settings < configure Kdenlive < playback and change one of the audio drivers to "WinMM" then restart the program, then the crackling will dissapear -Tullame This is indeed interesting. WinMM is for the Win7 audio backend. Could you make a test? On which of the 2 other audio backends you get the crackling: DirectSound or Wasapi. Thank you for testing. So do you have no crackling on WinMM and DirectSound. Correct? (In reply to emohr from comment #5) > Thank you for testing. So do you have no crackling on WinMM and DirectSound. > Correct? yes, it appeared out of nowhere, however I can replicate it buy switching to Wasabi, i'm assuming it started because of the new headset changing some settings, i belive so due to it being on automatic when i fixed it. |
Created attachment 144878 [details] Video showing the bug, Note that it is not OBS that causes this problem. SUMMARY I've recently had issues where the software starts to make a really irritating audio bug, while itself won't cause any major problems with the software, it is really annoying, and is quite odd since I did nothing to my knowledge that caused this. I got myself a new headset recently, which was when trying it out with the software I discovered the bug first, although using the old headset, the bug percisted. I've tried updating windows to see if that may have been the issue, though to no success. My PC specs are the following: prosessor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz 2.90 GHz 8GB Ram GTX 1660 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. open Kdenlive in any version (i've tried 21.12.0 and 21.08.2) 2. Insert any clip, of any kind, 3. play the clip and hear teh crackling begin. (Note The crackling still happens when sliding along the timeline) OBSERVED RESULT A really annoying audio crackling starts which as mentioned does not cause any major problems wit hediting as normal, and the software will still work, but it is really annoyin, and I wouldn't wanan continue to use the software if the bug continues EXPECTED RESULT Normal Audio, Like the one I have recorded SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: (I do not know what the above is refering to) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The bug only first appeared yesterday at the time of writing (26.12.2021), and i've seen posts of this across other forms of media, but no clear fix. -Tullame
