Supplement: If added to the file layer or reference image, krita will not be delayed. The problem is to add to "New Layer" and "New Image"
It's a side effect of the fixes for the linked bugs. The reason for that is that when receiving a paste or drop event from a browser, we prefer the linked images because those preserve the color space and metadata (as opposed to a raw bitmap paste, which you've been using). I've been working on a refactor that should allow selecting between the two, but it's not yet ready. |
