Description Eduardo 2021-12-15 14:41:17 UTC
This is a feature request. Currently we have "Lock Key Status" tray icon that is displayed when Caps Lock is ON. It can be configured to also be displayed when NumLock is ON.

However, most people prefer to keep the NumLock in ON state at most times. The OFF state is the odd one. Users usually want to be conscious when it is on OFF state (icon shown), and be left un-annoyed (no icon shown) if it is in ON state.

So the request is to make "Lock Key Status" applet configurable in a way that it displays an icon when NumLock is OFF, and displays nothing when NumLock is ON. Effectively reversing the current behavior. An alternate icon graphics should also be made displaying some sort of "forbidden sign" over the current icon, to clearly indicate that NumLock is in OFF state.

In the applet configuration GUI, today we have two checkboxes to enable it for CapsLock and/or Numlock.
Instead of these two checkboxes, we could have two dropdown comboboxes with 4 options each:

- Never show icon
- Always show icon
- Show icon if activated
- Show icon if deactivated
