This happens when I go to make an image of a DVD. Your explanation is a bit terse, could you please add a few screenshots so we can understand better what you are doing? (or do a video/gif capture with a tool like peek or similar) (In reply to Albert Astals Cid from comment #2) > Your explanation is a bit terse, could you please add a few screenshots so > we can understand better what you are doing? In the meantime, try one of your dvd's and make a copy, but then put 22 spaces before the ".iso" and see if it saves okay on your system, see if the file will save with the .iso extension. I just saved a copy of my Matrix DVD to "matrix .iso" and it worked jut fine, that's why i want screenshots of what you're doing, in case you're doing something different of what I am doing. Let me try with that dvd, but using a different operating system. Not a big priority anyways. It may take a while. Maybe it's just a problem with Manjaro. I've tried this problem out with Redcore.Linux.Hardened.2102.KDE.amd64.iso which is running k3b 21.08.1 and I get the same problem, where the copy does not save with the .iso extension. However, in the copy window, it says that it is copying a050502_00.iso and not with the 22 spaces. I'm not sure yet if this will continue to be a problem with a newer version of k3b. With peek, you want me to post the video here? Yes, please. Save the video as gif and post it here. (In reply to Albert Astals Cid from comment #7) > Yes, please. > > Save the video as gif and post it here. I tried running the manjaro live dvd, but using the add/remove software was a huge hassle, with all sorts of dependencies not being able to be resolved, couldn't upgrade k3b, and there was no peek program to download. Then, I went over to Redcore Linux, and didn't find the peek program, but found another program. Now I know why people aren't using GNU/Linux distributions widely, because of how much hassle it is to get it working properly. Anyways, I tried saving as .gif, and couldn't install peek, so here it is as .mkv. Created attachment 144794 [details]
k3b not saving iso extension during copy
Unfortunately still can not reproduce. See https://i.imgur.com/RKnioct.mp4 I'll leave the issue open in case someone else can reproduce or we figure out what I am doing different than you that may be causing the issue (In reply to Albert Astals Cid from comment #10) > Unfortunately still can not reproduce. > > See https://i.imgur.com/RKnioct.mp4 > > I'll leave the issue open in case someone else can reproduce or we figure > out what I am doing different than you that may be causing the issue It looks like you cancelled the copying before it was done, and one can't see the file that you're saving, whether it has an extension or not. The DVD that in this issue is not encrypted. Perhaps if someone were to author a dvd, unencrypted, but the title has 22 spaces at the end of the title, maybe that would cause this issue that I'm describing. |
