SUMMARY

Sometimes, after attaching a removable storage, it does not appear in the Disks & Devices applet. This does not always happen, and usually when that happens the applet stops showing any newly attached removable devices, not necessarily the one that originally caused the problem. I have seen this happen with SATA HDDs and USB flash drives.

I can see the attached storage device in the lsblk output, and I can mount the device manually in the command line, so the device is definitely recognized by the OS.

I tried changing the applet settings between showing all devices or removable only, it didn't help. When showing all devices the applet still doesn't list the newly attached device.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

I don't have a reliable reproducer, as I'm not sure what causes the problem to happen. It simply stops registering any newly attached storage devices.

EXPECTED RESULT

The applet should reliably register newly attached storage devices.
