Libreoffice exits without saving file or leaving partial file on server. Do you have kio-fuse installed? Created attachment 143880 [details] attachment-28887-0.html just checked and yes it is installed. Krusader works in place of Dolphin but I hate that app. On Tue, Nov 23, 2021 at 12:14 PM Nate Graham <bugzilla_noreply@kde.org> wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445976 > > Nate Graham <nate@kde.org> changed: > > What |Removed |Added > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Resolution|--- |WAITINGFORINFO > CC| |nate@kde.org > Status|REPORTED |NEEDSINFO > > --- Comment #2 from Nate Graham <nate@kde.org> --- > Do you have kio-fuse installed? > > -- > You are receiving this mail because: > You reported the bug. Whats your distro? What distro/os is the server running? I've changed my distro from KDE Neon to MX Linux KDE version. This distro uses Dolphin 20.12.2 and everything is running fine. The only change in my setup is the distro; hardware, network and server are all the same. I'll keep a version of KDE Neon around to help you with troubleshooting but it is not my daily use distro anymore. This bug still exists, Slackware-current, Dolphin 21.12.1. Editing a text file from kate/kwrite and saving on a samba share results in following error Could not rename partial file testfile.txt.part. Please check permissions. Tried on different samba servers and for sure it worked in previous versions of Dolphin/KDE. At the same time on the same computer that it is not working with Dolphin i can open the same file from Thunar file manager and save without problems. This same problem is in the KDE dophin file browser set as default for ROCKY LINUX 9 If i install "Konqueror" and manually browse the same SMB shares, there is no issue writing files PS: Installed Packages dolphin.x86_64 21.08.3-1.el9 Operating System: Rocky Linux 9.0 KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.14.0-70.30.1.el9_0.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i7-7700T CPU @ 2.90GHz Memory: 15.0 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® HD Graphics 630 21.08.3 has not been supported for almost a year. Please complain to your distribution. (In reply to Harald Sitter from comment #9) > 21.08.3 has not been supported for almost a year. Please complain to your > distribution. is it possible for me to uninstall it, and then pull newer version from another repo? or does it have to be built? You'll have to talk to your distribution, your entire software stack is out of support. This bug and a similar bug where samba files can be browsed but the folder reports 0 space have been reported multiple times. Snarky comments like, "go complain to your distro" don't help anyone. This bug and the other aforementioned one can be reproduced - across multiple distros, and in supported releases - plasma 5.24 and 5.26. I mentioned in one of the other bug reports I'd be happy to triage with someone. That ticket just got unceremoniously closed as well. The originator of this ticket made the same offer. I get that people are volunteers. I get that maybe it is a not a high priority issue, or maybe there is no time. But closing tickets with no effort by simply saying that version is now out of date is the same trick Fedora/Redhat like to use to cull their ticket count. It is a lousy look for both projects.
