SUMMARY

I am reporting issues with installing Calligra (the entire package) on Rocky Linux.

System info:

Operating System: Rocky Linux 8.4
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.5
Kernel Version: 4.18.0-305.25.1.el8_4.x86_64
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 12 × Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2620 v3 @ 2.40GHz
Memory: 31.1 GiB of RAM

----SNAP option--------
I have tried the instructions at https://snapcraft.io/calligra which yields 2 problems:

1. Selinux changes are required (ok / addressed but not a good user experience)
2. Error when attempt to launch from commandline :
"Cannot mix incompatible Qt library (5.15.2) with this library (5.15.3)"

--- Repo option----
I follow the links and end up here: http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/
The problems with this :
1. It is on sourceforge. This doesn't instill great confidence but I could deal with it if it weren't for....
2. http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/ is unsecured (http) so what is the point in taking signing keys from there ?
Comment 1 b_power 2021-11-11 11:20:29 UTC
...actually... can't think why https would make a difference to trusting the keys....
but it all looks a bit dodgy - a project promoting kde software which is not on the kde site and whose keys are not provided via the kde site but is instead using unsecured pages on a network with a tainted history.

So the issue is just with the snap. (I've Just seen option to report through snapcraft.io so I'll do that now. )

...nope... commented too soon the reporting option was for copyright and service issues and the other reporting options lead back here.
Comment 3 Tomas Mecir 2021-11-11 15:07:26 UTC
Please file the report with whoever is creating/distributing these snap packages - the problem seems to be specific to them, not to Calligra in general. Thanks!
