SUMMARY
I ran Kubuntu 21.10 from a USB stick to resize my root partition, but it failed numerous times. Installed gparted and it managed to resize the partition.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Boot Kubuntu 21.10 from USB
2. Attempt to resize ext4 partition
3. Process stops with "failed to resize partition" error
