I use the semantic tagging feature to track episodes of TV shows I have and have not watched. I added the "watched" tag to an episode using the Information Panel. And then I went to open the next 'unwatched' episode (file without a semantic tag) and re-opened the episode I had just seen. Pressing F5 updated the folder.

I would think that the main file view would immediately show the just-applied tag under the Tags column.

Have a look at Bug 401019, could talking about the same issue

Behaviour on my machine is the opposite. It is the column in the detailed file view which does *not* update immediately. Since the bugs are so similar, I wouldn't object to merging as a duplicate, however.

It's reproducible

In dolphin open a folder with a handful of files. Right click on the column headers and tick "tags" to display the xattr tag properties. Open the information panel (with F11) and "Add..." a tag to one of the files.

You see the tag "there" in the information panel (and it's listed if you look at the properties of the file) but it does not appear in the "Tags" column until you press F5.

You need baloo indexing the folder to populate the tags column
