The Media Player applet is an "Automatic Load" applet, which means it actually disappears completely when not needed. We could perhaps remove the "always show" option for these applets, or instead make it override the applet's ehavior to disappear when it believes it's not needed. Patrick, are you still seeing this bug in Plasma 6.4.5 or later? Yes.
