Description David 2021-10-20 20:57:12 UTC
SUMMARY
From the new system monitoring app, it is not possible to lauch new processes as one would be able to do in e.g. MS windows. This is particularly useful when one needs to kill or restart key processes - for example, if I kill kwin through this app, there is no way to easily recover, whereas in MS windows one can kill a process and easily launch it again from there.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch system monitor.
2. Go to "Processes".
3. Find kwin_x11 and kill it.
4. Try to recover from that.

OBSERVED RESULT
Not possible to relaunch kwin or other processes from there.

EXPECTED RESULT
Should let me issue commands and launch processes from there as an aid in emergency situations (I'm likely to have this app also while my system is low on resources for example).
