Can you please attach a screenshot of the full screen? It's probably Dolphin or a different app sending this message, not Discover, but I need to be sure. Created attachment 142752 [details]
error message KDE
Here you go Nate. many thanks
Can you maybe open the details? It will give us some more information. No problem. I have a HP Chromebook 14 5g that has Debian 10 and I needed a GUI, decided to run KDE plasma as my option. The download was successful no error messages, decided to reboot my system. In the terminal i ran "startkde" command and all processes well, sign in on the previously attached image and get the message, "There are two actions (new tab, new tab) that want to use same shortcut (Ctrl T).-abbreviated version of the window. I did see the message again using a shortcut to get into my downloads folder. Possibly this could be related to using my short cut keys? **In an effort to get a feel for which distro is a good fit giving my expansive background of UNIX exposure (joke, kidding) I have used Ubuntu, Manjaro and this is a first for Debian KDE and its a good fit so far. I am going to test out KALI but understand that's heavy in security and I would classified as below the "script kiddie" status. I've seen a network that was taking down by a visitor (intentional probably) use a tablet in the bldg lobby that had he must of jailbroke into and someone gave him the wifi passing by. Got into the network and tried to move around laterally and the IT guys got red flag and it had it mitigated in no time. Guest from lobby gone, but they tracked him down and not sure what the consequences were. administrator said at best script kiddie guy has no idea what he's doing. If ya'll need anything else let me know. really appreciate the support EM TX The image you've attached depicts a password prompt, not a message about conflicting shortcuts. Can you attach a screenshot (no need to take a picture with your phone) of the error message you're reporting? Also I strongly recommend against using Kali Linux as a normal desktop OS. It is not intended for that and you will run into a million weird problems. If you want a good desktop KDE experience, I would recommend a distro that has Plasma pre-installed. A few are shown at https://kde.org/distributions/. Installing Plasma yourself is tricky to get right without fighting against missing packages and configuration problems for ages and ages. Created attachment 142886 [details] attachment-5509-0.dat Alright Mr Nate. Made an update to bug report 444036 and good to go. Exposure wise to linux distros is new world and have a ways to go in terms of soaking it all in. I actually like the aspect of having to install the packages and seeing how it all ties in. Good to keep the synapses firing, prevents dimentia later in the senior years. Once you hit 55 your doctor will clue you in to that. I like the concept of being able to recall my own name when i turn 8o. Stay safe and keep in mind not to accept any wooden nickels.
