Description Inn 2021-10-18 16:58:31 UTC
SUMMARY
The battery indicator on the SDDM login screen always shows the battery charging icon, also when my laptop isn't connected to AC. The battery percentage, however, is correct. This issue isn't present on the lock screen, where the battery charging icon is only displayed when the laptop is connected to AC.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Logout in order to get to the login screen
2. Eventually plug the charger out if it's plugged in
3. The battery icon still shows that the battery is charging

NOTE: This also happens when the laptop is booted without being plugged in.

OBSERVED RESULT
The little green plug is still present inside the battery icon

EXPECTED RESULT
The little green plug should disappear from the battery icon, as would happen in the Plasma battery applet.

I can confirm this happens on openSUSE Tumbleweed as well. And it's been like this for several months, it's not a new issue.

I can confirm this issue is also present on KDE Neon 5.22.3.

Sadly this is an upstream issue: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/upower/upower/-/issues/126
