Showing nothing on the right pane makes sense if there are no folders listed in the left pane. Are there are folders listed in the left pane, or not? Created attachment 142037 [details]

(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Showing nothing on the right pane makes sense if there are no folders listed > in the left pane. Are there are folders listed in the left pane, or not? Not to be pedantic, but yes. This was previously working as expected prior to the most recent update. I've attached screenshots that show what I'm experiencing. The default path /usr/share/wallpapers is where I have all the wallpaper images, and prior to this update, it would show me thumbnails of all the images that were in that path, and would crawl recursively through that path through other folders and display any images that were there. When I would toggle slideshow on, it would then display ALL the images it found recursively in that path, and all would be selected (via checkbox) by default, and I would be able to deselect the images I wanted to take out of the rotation. This is no longer the case. What I suspect is going on here is that we made /usr/share/wallpapers show up in the list explicitly such that the user can remove it if they want (some people did want this). It is no longer implicit but rather explicit. Looks like we neglected to migrate old configs to add that path to people who had already customized it. So, anything we can do as a workaround, or just wait until the next update? You can manually add the folders /usr/share/wallpapers and ~/.local/share/wallpaper to the folder list. Ok, so I did that, and all it did is display two entries for "wallpapers" in the left box, indicating the list of folders selected for wallpapers, and the right box still remains blank. The slideshow functionality does work, however, the thumbnail listing in the right-side box remains blank with no ability to deselect or select thumbnail images in the slideshow queue. I will upload new screenshots. Created attachment 142223 [details]

Manually specified the second path
So you added those paths, and the images appeared in the slideshow, but they didn't show up in the right panel of that window? Do they appear work if you close the window and re-open it? (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #11) > So you added those paths, and the images appeared in the slideshow, but they > didn't show up in the right panel of that window? Do they appear work if you > close the window and re-open it? Yes, that is correct. I removed the path, manually added the two, closed and reopened the window, and the thumbnails do not appear in the right box. The slideshow works, but it will auto-select ALL the images in those paths, and the UI for toggling images doesn't render the options. Well that's odd. (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #13) > Well that's odd. LOL Yeah, I agree. Anyone else experiencing this? It's expected behavior. Plasma is not likely to break old config. |
