Description strangequark 2021-09-28 06:17:08 UTC
SUMMARY
Having a setting in the Configure Application Launcher window to be able to disable the animation when you open/close the launcher would be nice. There should be an ability to instantaneously open the launcher without having to disable all KDE animations globally

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the launcher (Meta or click)

OBSERVED RESULT/FEATURE REQUEST
There is an animation while opening, which is very slow despite it the animation speed having been configured in Settings. This is subjective, but the problem for some who prefer animations elsewhere, but don't like the app launcher opening slowly can be solved by having a 'Disable animations while opening/closing Kickoff' setting in the widget configuration menu (right click, Configure Application Launcher)

You can: disable the "Sliding popups" effect in System Settings > Workspace Behavior > Desktop Effects.

Thank you, that works.
