SUMMARY
Sometimes, discover gets stuck fetching updates for too many minutes, even though updates from many sources are already fetched. If I hover the mouse above it, it shows a blue pop-up mentioning something about the flat pack backend at 42%. After many minutes it skips those and works correctly, but this behavior is very annoying.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Not sure.

OBSERVED RESULT
Discover gets stuck in "fetching updates".

EXPECTED RESULT
If an update is not fetcheable, should skip and show the rest that are available right now.

This was fixed in Plasma 5.22 and the update fetching speed is substantially faster in Plasma 5.23.

I am still experiencing this issue in plasma 5.23.

Does it happen only with the flatpak backend?

Test the following:

1. plasma-discover --backends packagekit-backend
2. plasma-discover --backends flatpak-backend

If it's only slow with the Flatpak backend, then this is probably Bug 443555.

Haven't tried that yet, but that bug says five minutes, while in my cases it can be many hours.
