Mp3tag's setting menu where we can choose the language
The language setting in kdiff3 has no effect on other programs. As far a I know this is by design. Does kdiff3 itself show this behavoir in its UI? (In reply to michael from comment #2) > The language setting in kdiff3 has no effect on other programs. Why this comment? of course it has no effect on other programs. > As far a I know this is by design. Does kdiff3 itself show this behavoir in its UI? Yes, as shown in my attached image. The UI is totally messed up: it's in English AND in French. Sorry missed that second attachment. Can you see if 1.9.4 is still affected? If then I will look into it. My machine only shows English as language option. This is not my intent and I assume the result of my system being English only to start with. Here are the steps to reproduce this problem even if your system is in English: 1. Create another user for test in your computer (so you won't mix up things in your main user profile which could be quite nasty ^_^ ) 2. Sign in to that user 3. Open Settings (in Windows 10, that's the "cog") > Language Settings 4. Open "Administrative language settings" 5. Change Format field to "French (France)" (cf attached image that I'm going to upload) Created attachment 144518 [details]
Administrative language settings > French
This seems to be a craft limitation a solution is in the works but not yet deployed for general testing. I will update this when I hear more. Just upload a binary built from the 1.9.4 source tarball. This should have full translations as they are part of the tarball. Created attachment 157513 [details]
Still some French words after the 1st patch
No, the problem has not been totally fixed yet. I still see French words here and there (cf attached image https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=157513) It seems like kdiff3 is using several mechanisms to detect language. This will be fixed in as soon craft updates to KF 5.104. Apparently a known issue with older frameworks on windows Albert Astals Cid 6:46 PM (3 hours ago) to kde-core-devel, kde-windows, me El dimecres, 22 de març de 2023, a les 21:38:58 (CET), Michael Reeves va escriure: > I receiving complaints about French words appearing sporadically on > KDiff3's GUi even when KDiff3 itself is set to use English. > I strongly suspect a setup issue within Windows but require assistance to > rule out frameworks/qt involvement in the issue. > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442607 > > KDiff3 itself does not attempt to interfere with or alter the translation > process in any way, Forcing the language on the application settings (which seems to be what the user is doing) didn't work on Windows until very recently, you'll need a newer build that is based in KF 5.104. Cheers, Albert Can you retest with 1.10.1 it includes libkf5i18n 5.104. waiting for retest. Dear Bug Submitter, This bug has been in NEEDSINFO status with no change for at least 15 days.
