SUMMARY
In current smplayer, so in version 19.10.2 (revision 9245) all spinbox widgets present in preferences are unreadable. I mean only are visible side's arrows (up and down) and value between is not visible. Widget looks like squashed. Please check attached screenshots.

I opened ui files coming from current stable version of smplayer, so 21.8.0 and all spinbox widgets looked fine. I suppose would be enough only rebuild package.
BTW.
I dependency there is package libqt4-dev and I don't see it in official repository.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open smplayer
2. Open Option -> Preferences
3. Open General -> Video

OBSERVED RESULT
Not readable spinbox

EXPECTED RESULT
spinbox widget should be readable to be able to modify its value

I installed latest stable version (21.8.0) using below instruction:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:rvm/smplayer 
sudo apt-get update 
sudo apt-get install smplayer smplayer-themes smplayer-skins 

coming from: https://www.smplayer.info/en/downloads

Unfortunately this didn't help. All spinbox widgets are unreadable.
I'm not sure where lies the problem.

I can confirm the bug with SMPlayer on neon unstable.
It was also reported against Falkon, see bug 441831
