folder DigiCam changed to file with same name

SUMMARY
I have DigiKam version 5.6.0, installed on my laptop with UBUNTU 18.04.5 LTS. All pictures and also DigiKam's dB are located in folder /home/user/Pictures/DigiCam.
It's second time during last year I faced same problem : suddenly, folder DigiCam changed to file with same name and size 276 k.
I am mot sure if this happen after rebut , however I do recognized this while DigiKam launched and asked for dB location.

First, digiKam doesn't touch the root collection folder. digiKam-5.6.0 is very very old, there is a difference of more than 1300 closed bug reports to the current version. Such a problem has never been reported. This is definitely a problem with your filesystem / Linux system. Check your hard drive for defective. Upload the file.

Recently I upgraded my laptop to Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS and also digiKam to ver. 7.8.0, until now i did not faced any problem.
