Description mjwany48 2021-08-30 10:28:59 UTC
SUMMARY
The physical sound buttons of my PC don't work and don't show any output through xev. This happens with both the fn+volume up/down keys on the keyboard or with the volume up/down buttons on the side of the computer. All other fn keyboard keys work, and it is not a hardware problem since the volume up/down keys work in Windows 10 (I have dual boot). I guess this problem is specific to my computer (Hp EliteBook Revolve 810 G3) but I'd be very grateful if someone could help me with this.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open xev in Konsole
2. Press volume up/down buttons
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing happens

EXPECTED RESULT
For xev to display the keypress event, for the volume to be increased/decreased.

As you described that the key do not work in xev, this is unlikely to be a kde bug
