Description lnxusr 2021-08-29 23:02:03 UTC
SUMMARY
The panel, when set to auto hide, will only remain hidden when the cursor is on the same monitor as the panel and no windows on the other monitor(s) is brought into focus. The panel will remain hidden when the mouse moves to another monitor, but will unhide as soon as a window on another monitor is brought into focus. It also unhides if a window on another monitor is brought into focus via the Alt-Tab shortcut, and the cursor remains on the monitor with the hidden panel.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have to or more monitors.
2. set panels on at least one of them to auto-hide.
3. Bring focus to a window on a different monitor, either by moving cursor over and selecting it or via Alt-Tab shortcut.

OBSERVED RESULT
The panel becomes unhidden.

EXPECTED RESULT
The panel remains hidden unless the cursor is moved to the edge of the screen that contains the panel.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Operating System: KDE neon 5.22
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.85.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I've just set the panels on my two non-primary monitors to auto hide, so I can't say how long this has been an issue.

Hello,
I tried this issue in recent 5.24.1 version. Seem that now the hiding panel works correctly.

Could you please let us know if this is working for you too?

Regards

The issue still persists, but only on my normal login. I created a test user and this issue is not present there. I also have a couple of other issues present in my normal login that are not in the test user. If this is a problem with my settings and config files, should I move this over to the forums to seek help or keep this open and open issues for the other problems?

Hello,
I'm just a triage volunteer, so my knowledge is limited.
If I'm not mistaken most of kde user config files lives in
~/.config
What I would do is compare the config files with the ones in the new user.
Also you could rename some of them to see if plasma generates a new ones.

My last option would create a new user from scratch.

I'll leave the ticket open for a while to see if someone replies.
note that if there is no updates will be closed automatically.

regards

This seems to be some possible ridicule issue with my config files or something, so I'm changing this to resolved, not a bug.
