Hello Martin A similar bug report is perhaps already filled (sorry I write this in a hurry no time to check). It's a known issue and is related to Matthias Ettrich's new mechanism that denies new popped windows to steal focus from a window on which the user is active (typing). The mecanism was misbehaving with gimp sniff+ etc. but if I remember correctly Matthias already provided a correction. Please try with a current CVS and if the issue is solved close this bug report (I don't have SnIFF+).
