Politics aside most people still have Nvidia GPUs and GNOME Wayland on Nvidia runs like a breeze (ha-ha-ha). I honestly thought that Wayland would be the catalyst for Plasma to catch up to GNOME in terms of Nvidia support. Plasma Nvidia Wayland sessions are horribly unstable (broken UI, lags, consistent crashes after updating any setting whether Window Rules, Scripts or Decorations, Monitor Scaling, Positioning you name it) while GNOME Nvidia Wayland literally just works (haven't had a single crash since 470 driver came out even doing "funny/weird" stuff).
