I like these suggestions, though we won't be able to add new features for 5.0. For now, people will have to use kdenlive for this. A possibly relevant merge request was started @ https://invent.kde.org/graphics/krita/-/merge_requests/1087 The "Hold Last Frame for" option was merged: https://invent.kde.org/graphics/krita/-/merge_requests/1087 The "Made with Krita" watermark feature still needs to be implemented. |
Created attachment 140851 [details] export_timelapse_mockup SUMMARY The Krita 5 recorder is a great feature, but the export timelapse can be more complete with an option to "hold the last frame for X time". That is because of the way some services, apps, social networks work, and may vary depending on where they are viewed, Web Desktop or Mobile App. On Twitter for example a video plays in an infinite loop, it is impossible to see the last frame of the time lapse (the final result of the drawing/painting) Discord on the desktop pauses the video in the last frame, if viewed through the mobile app, the video resets, it goes back to the first frame instantly, impossible to see the final result. Whatsapp has the same behavior as the Discord mobile app,the video automatically goes back to the first frame and stop. The only way to see the final result is to pause at the exact moment, before it instantly restarts. Instagram also plays videos in infinite loop, impossible to see the final result of the time lapse. With an option to hold last frame in the export, we are sure that the final result will stay on screen for X time, without being perfect for the sub /r/gifsthatendtoosoon/ XD. mockup attached ADDITIONAL SUGGESTION It would be very interesting and welcome if the export timelapse had a toggle to add a watermark in one corner of the time lapse video saying "Made with Krita" or "Made with" + the krita logo. It's a great way to promote software on the internet. Being optional, I think it would be a good idea to have it there.
