ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Jasem Mutlaq 2021-08-18 07:19:11 UTC
Cannot reproduce. Did you try this in English, or just French?
Comment 2 Jean-Claude 2021-08-18 11:54:07 UTC
I'm only working in English.
I made a mistake in my previous mail.
1. Using menu Pointing > Find Object :
- Search for Tsi : you get Navi
- Search for Navi : you get Tsih
I attach both screen shots in a compressed folder
Comment 3 Rob 2021-08-18 16:30:44 UTC
I just tried this on my Mac. I searched for Seginus, I got Seginus. I searched for Navi, I got Navi. I searched for Tsi, I got 4 options, one of which was Tsih. My current version is 3.5.5 beta, but I built it quite awhile ago, so it should be pretty much 3.5.4.

Ooops where are my comments ?
I write them again:
Rob, open the attachment.
It contains 2 screen shots :
- Search Navi - Get Tsi.jpg
- Search Tsi - Get Navi.jpg
You can see that KStars 354 places Tsi where Navi is, and reverse.
I checked the bug on 2 Macs.
Comment 6 Rob 2021-08-18 17:19:08 UTC
That is very odd since that is not what it is doing on my machine. It seems to work correctly here.
Comment 7 Rob 2021-08-18 17:20:33 UTC
Maybe this could be related to all the changes related to the catalogs from the last release? Perhaps you have an outdated one?
Comment 8 Rob 2021-08-18 17:20:53 UTC
note that is completely a guess
Comment 9 Jean-Claude 2021-08-18 17:53:14 UTC
Rob, if you tell me where are the catalogs, I could delete them and reinstall KStars from the KStars 3.5.4 DMG Installer
Comment 10 Jean-Claude 2021-08-19 16:06:38 UTC
Good guess !
I replace the 2 files :
starnames.dat
stars.dat
... and it solved the problem
Thanks
Comment 11 Rob 2021-08-19 18:11:10 UTC
Glad to hear it!

(In reply to Rob from comment #11)

Rob, obsolete or damaged files might also be the origin of another "bug" I reported recently here (Slew to Target for planets doesn't work -- https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440886)
Maybe the KStars files containing the planet coordinates are damaged too.
Do you have any suggestion ?

Corrupted and correct planet files

I just solved this issue by replacing the 150 files of type .vsop and .orbit related to the planets.
The creation date of the corrupted files is 18 July 2017.
The creation date of the correct files is 08 July 2021.
In attachment is a compressed folder containing a corrupted and a correct file

This is solved : the planet and stars filez were out-dated for an unknown reason<<<
I replaced them and everything worked fine
