Hi, So, if i understand, you want a multiple views comparison, not limited to 2 photo. Right ? If yes, weel it's a duplicate of bug #221140 Best Gilles Caulier Q: In Surview View mode from LR, how did you compare the metadata ? As i can see there is no metadata viewer in this mode... I would say that "Survey View" contains more features than just display multiple views but these are partially discussed in #221140. - "autolayout": automatically decide on optimal layout depending on number of selected photos and their aspect ratio (e.g. for vertical photos might be better three photos in the row 3x1, however for horizontal layout might be beneficial to put them in the 2x2 grid layout) - "rejection": you can click on "x" (or use the keyboard shortcut) on the preview to remove given photo from the survey (un-select it and revise optimal layout for new number of photos in the survey, rearrange if needed) - "filtering": filters can be applied on the survey view e.g. to prevent displaying photos marked with "reject". During the survey user can e.g. mark photos with specific flag/tag and use desired configuration of filtering to support process of photo selection. As i can > see there is no metadata viewer in this mode... > > Gilles Caulier I would say that main purpose of "Survey View" will be for the comparison of the "visual" part of the photo not for metadata comparison. Light Table in current shape can serve well for detailed comparison of two photos including their metadata. If someone needs multi-file metadata comparison I would put it as different feature request (perhaps even not as part of Light Table). I agree, SurveyView can be another tool to compare visually a collection of images. I retain this idea as a future google summer of code for a student. Gilles Caulier |
Created attachment 140605 [details] Screeshoot of the lightroom's "Survey view" SUMMARY Provide functionality for comparing and selecting multiple photos (typically e.g. choose best among few similar shoots). Multiple selected photos are scaled and displayed covering full available display area. Photos displayed in this view are typically bigger than thumbnails. Currently Light table seems to be able to compare two consecutive photos. Basically, I meant similar feature as "Survey View" in Adobe Lightroom catalog.
