In the journal - The 00logger entries are to provide tags for activities completed Current openSUSE Leap 15.2 updates applied to my laptop. The laptop displays the same symptoms. A DVD cannot be loaded/reloaded in the drive without first rebooting. Does the DVD appear in Dolphin's sidebar? The system has not been rebooted since the last DVD was played. A DVD loaded in the drive does not show up in the Dolphin Sidebar display. A Dolphin display of /dev/sr0 will allow Right-Click, Open With, Multimedia. If VLC is selected, the DVD will play. Thanks for the info. If Dolphin can't see it either, the problem is probably somewhere in the Solid framework, which handles removable discs and devices like this. On 210815 I applied outstanding openSUSE maintenance to my system (zypper log is atached) and rebooted. I loaded and played a DVD in the normal desktop manner (load DVD in the drive, wait for the device notifier, select the VLC player and play the DVD). Everything proceeded normally. No other changes were applied to my system. On 210816 I loaded another DVD in the drive expecting the device notifier NOT to appear. However, the device notifier did appear and provide all the choices I expected. I was able to play the DVD normally and unload it when complete. I then attempted to reload the DVD. The device notifier reappeared as it should and I was able to select the VLC played again. Created attachment 140786 [details]

Sorry. I spoke too soon. I attempted to view a DVD last evening and discovered the bug (440052) is still present. |
