Better replying late, for the record, than never, I guess: This was implemented in September 2021 https://invent.kde.org/multimedia/amarok/-/merge_requests/39 and has been available since. This still doesn't work in Amarok 2.9.71using KDE Frameworks 5.115.0 There hasn't been an actual Amarok release since then, so your Amarok version is probably built from the 2.9.71 sources released in February 2021. However, if you can find a source that packages Amarok git head (or any source snapshot newer than Sep 2021) for your distribution (or if unavailable, self-compile), the functionality should be there. Ah, sorry, to correct my previous message, I forgot it was merged to main branch only in February 2023, so packages built from git head from March 2023 or later should have it. This version I have is self-compiled (Gentoo) from the git master branch downloaded today from invent.kde.org. I can't find a 'head' branch. Created attachment 166356 [details]

Yes, okay, that's correct branch. That's quite unexpected to hear.
To make sure I've not misunderstood what functionality is being referred to, I attached a video of me using it just now. This is the functionality referred to, right?
Yes that's the functionality, and I can confirm that it works. The problem turned out to be a misconfiguration on my system: Amarok was picking up shared libraries left over from from an older installation. Okay, that's great to hear! Thank you for your swift responses & happy drag'n'dropping! |
