SUMMARY
The floating preview of folders on the desktop is always active even if the option is unchecked in the desktop configuration.


EXPECTED RESULT
Do not have a floating preview of folders on the desktop if the option is unchecked.

So you unchecked "Folder Preview popups" but they are still appearing? Can you attach a screen recording that shows this happening?

[Folder View] When folder previews are disabled, disable them on hover too

It's logical that if the user disables this feature, they want it off
everywhere, not just in one of the two places where it can currently
appear.
