Sentry Crash Report:

Description Chris 2021-07-05 10:41:23 UTC
Five parsing errors are reported all relating to /usr/share/applications/org.kde.mobile.okular.
These are the above plus _chm.desktop; _djvu.desktop; _epub.desktop; _md.desktop and _tiff.desktop.
In each case the error is described as 'Unknown error. Desktop file appears to be are valid' [the grammatical error 'to be are' is not a mistype on my part]

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Menu
2. Open Menu Editor (MenuLibre)
3. Check 'Details'

OBSERVED RESULT
Always as reported above.

EXPECTED RESULT
The program itself appears to run normally for general reading of PDF files, selecting text, and using the 'Review' tools. The unexplained parsing errors are a little worrying but do not appear to cause any actual problems. I would normally expect no parsing errors for a program conventionally installed and exhibiting no problems in day to day usage.

The okular version you're testing is more than a year and a half old, please try a newer version and report again.

And maybe tell us the errors you're getting, or you expect me to install that MenuLibre thing?

From where do I get the newer version for my Xubuntu (i.e.non KDE) installation?

How do I install it?

I would give it a try. I love the capability of okular to highlight portions of pdf-files. That's very cute!
