SUMMARY

I recently got a new PC and installed Arch Linux on it, with exactly the same configurations as my previous PC. I noticed that the section to exclude a domain from being managed by media controls is gone. I tried this on multiple sites, with both Firefox 89.0.2-1 and Chromium 91.0.4472.114-1.

OBSERVED RESULT
When opening the extension menu in the top right of my browser (both on Firefox and Chromium), I only see a blue header saying "Plasma Browser Integration", with the KDE logo under it.

EXPECTED RESULT
I should see a section for media controls, with a checkbox to enable/disable media controls on the currnet domain.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux 5.12.13 with bspwm (not running Plasma)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.2.1-1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.83.0-1
Qt Version: 5.15.2+kde+r203-1

My previous system has exactly the same versions.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The reason I'm still using this extension on a non-plasma setup is because Firefox still hasn't implemented full MPRIS support.

How can I start debugging why this option won't appear.

What's that odd popup that content is embedded in in that screenshot?

Also, is there actually playing video on the page? On youtube I still see those controls on Chromium 91.0.4472.114

That's the extension menu that opens when you click on the plasma icon in the top right of the browser.

Ah, that's it: it only shows if there is actual media playing. It also displays the section if it was disabled before, that's why it was working on my previous PC: I disabled reddit there.
