What distro and Plasma version are you using? I am on arch and plasma 5.22 and wayland. Thanks. And are you using the Maximized window placement mode? yes Does it work if you set a window rule to explicitly force them to be maximized, I wonder? What do you mean,in the window behavior settings or what? I mean with a window rule in System Settings > Window Management > Window Rules They still don't start maximized then.
