SUMMARY
Hello,

I worked with digiKam 7.3.0 snapshot 10.6.2021 on a Windows 10 system.
I selected an image and opened Image Editor.
Now I started: DebugView (because of Windows).

Clicking on Color Negativ opens a dialog and after a short time the whole application closes without any message and without any output in DebugView.

I cannot reproduce that. What do you mean by dialog? Usually the right view switches to the tool settings.

Hello Maik,

thanks for your response.
Yes you are right, the settings for Color Negativ are displayed on the right side.
Inside the histogram field the "rotating circle" can be seen for short.
Then editor window and application window are closed without any message.

Sorry that my first description was a little bit confusing.

Not reproducible here. Can you record a screen-cast of the dysfunction, just to be sure

Can it be reproduced with any image? Otherwise a sample image would be good, if not publicly on my e-mail.

Hello,

thanks both for your investigations.
As both of you state, the problem is not reproducable, I started also some more investigations:
- the problem does not occur editing images with "Color Negative" inside
  ShowFoto
- in digiKam the problem occurs with every image I load into image editor

So I renamed digikamrc and started this "fresh" installation:
- no problem using "Color negativ" inside digiKam.

So I am sure it depends on my used setting in digikamrc.
I also tried to find those settings used by tool "Color Negativ"; but without success.
Therefor I feel free to attach the digikamrc file of my system.
Please be aware that this is a database for tests only (as I work on German translation); so some settings might be strange for you.
