SUMMARY
When copying / moving files a pop up window used to appear showing progress, now it no longer shows. On the task bar the icon for dolphin shows the progress, Not very easy to notice on large file transfers so it can be shut down mid transfer

Are you using Plasma? If so, did you turn off notifications for job progress in System Setting > Notifications > Application Progress: Show in Notifications?

I hadn't turned off the notifications, guess after the update my preferences were overwritten, all is well now
