App Launcher Settings
This is a screenshot from the settings window..
The option won't be present in 5.22 Hello Mikel, removing the checkbox from the settings is certainly a solution to make the behaviour consistent. But IMHO it is a pity that the user cannot turn off the on hover switching. (Even the "simple menu" widget can be configured this way. And the former launcher menu (that came with kubuntu 20.10) did offer this setting, too. IMHO it is bad for the UX if something is switching automatically only because you move the mouse somewhere. In the case of the launcher menu you click on the icon in the taskbar to open the menu and have to move the mouse across the tabs to reach e.g. the favorites entries. If you move the mouse to slowly the favorites disappear and are replaced by the content of another tab where the mouse pointer accidentally hovers on. For me it is not that very important, because I usually am using a hotkey to open the menu and prefer to navigate by cursor keys inside the menu. But when using the mouse it sometimes happend being annoyed by the auto switching. (btw.: for navigating with the cursor keys it would be better if the favorite entries on the right side had the focus by default, so you can use cursor down to go through the entries. Currently you have to use cursor right first, otherwise you would switch the tabs again with cursor down. And the favorites are these entries that you usually want to reach most often. But this is something for another "bug" report.) Kind regards Gert The hover will always be off Sorry for confusion. *lol* Ok, thank you! This is perfect IMO. Gert |
