SUMMARY
Since I upgraded kdenlive from 20.12.3 (which was fine) to 21.04.0, it crashes on startup without any error message.

On the next startup, kdenlive proposes to delete the configuration files. When I press Yes, it keeps popping up again. When I press No, it closes the program without any error message.

I have some kdenlive crash dumps in "C:\Users\larsen\AppData\Local\CrashDumps\".

Deleted "C:\Users\larsen\AppData\Roaming\kdenlive"
Deleted "C:\Users\larsen\AppData\Local\kdenlive\"
Deleted "C:\Users\larsen\AppData\Local\kde*"
Tried the nightly "kdenlive-master-758-windows-mingw_64-gcc.exe"

Windows 10, 20H2 with all updates.
Using the installer, not the standalone package.

Please try the following: 

- delete the folder C:\Program Files\kdenlive and try to install 21.04.0 again. 

If Kdenlive 20.04.0 still crash at startup 
- download kdenlive-20.12.3.exe from here https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/20.12/windows/ 

- and install it. 
- Check if it runs. 
- Then uninstall 20.12.3. 
- Then install 21.04.0 again.

Ok, this fixed the problem.

Didn't find the other bug report before as there is no "crash" in its title which I looked for. Also, had downloaded the new version on April 27th when there was no warning. So, sorry for the noise ;-)
