when clicking this option in the onion skin docker it DOUBLES the size of this function, this is way too wide


There is a lot of unnecessary whitespace.  Remove this whitespace or maybe maybe the check boxes vertical in stead of horizontal.

Another way would be to give the check boxes a rectangle color itself, so you can eliminate the need tor 2 squares and reduce it to one colored square per color

Are you testing this on Krita 5.0? (Or Krita Next daily build from the website?)

Here's how the current filter onion skin color filter buttons look w/ the full krita window for context. Basically, each color button shows the visibility of certain labels with the onion skins.
