looking for the ability, outside of VLC, to cast videos from a player to chromecast. there are other casting protocols like airplay but for me its chromecast. discussion from here: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/mh5cua/haruna_video_player_060_released/gsya3pc/?context=3

It would also be lovely to have support for Nymphcast (basically a FOSS Chromecast), it would be lovely in combination with Plasma Bigscreen.

For Youtube I had success casting to an LG TV in my LAN with this small tool:
https://github.com/MarcoLucidi01/ytcast

But if I remember well when I did it, I had to look up on the router's page the IP address of the TV.
