SUMMARY

Highlighting of the matching parenthesis is always yellow, can not change the colour.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Settings -> configure Kate
2. Try to find the setting

 I need to have a difference between the colour of the found strings and the content of the matching parenthesis.

Color Themes > Colors (default tab) 
 Text decoration section > bracket highlight 
should do it
