SUMMARY
Spectacle says "could not take a screenshot" when KDE is running with Wayland


STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Run KDE with Wayland
2. Open spectacle
3. Observe the error

OBSERVED RESULT
Error message: could not take a screenshot

EXPECTED RESULT
Able to make screenshots

What mode are you using when you hit this issue? Just Rectangular Region? Or all of the modes? And what version of Plasma are you using?

@Nate it happens in every mode :) It doesn't even start to make a selection.
Also, when the app starts, it immediately displays this error message. Attached is a screenshot

It's Plasma 5.21.4, running the most recent Kubuntu release 21.04, Wayland mode.

Ah yeah this. :/

Should be fixed in Plasma 5.22. Sorry about that.
